On Monday we revealed hover, but as with any new product it had a few bugs we missed during testing. Thanks to your feedback we have fixed the majority of them. Since one of the bugs caused a reboot we have decided to push out a updated build, stability is of the utmost importance to us. We listened to community request regarding notification spam and have implemented some fixes, the display time has also been adjusted and other minor bugs squashed. Default hide time is now 5 seconds (instead of 3). If multiple notifications are received simultaneously, that time is reduced to 2.5 seconds before the next notification is shown (previously 1.5). Tapping outside of Hover now dismisses the overlay in 1.5 seconds (instead of 0.75)
The ability to disable the IME notification has been implemented, while we work on full blacklist support (check language and input settings).
As a temporary fix for the spam created by some apps, we changed how Hover handled updates from notifications. This change however, has impacted how some messaging apps are not handled. For example, with hangouts, you will only receive the first notification from a given contact or group. Any updates to the same chat will not trigger Hover. However, once that notification is cleared (dismissed/viewed) hover will send you the next update.
We should have a better implementation in the near future.
As stated on Monday, swipe to dismiss and blacklist is a work in progress.
